When you hire The Cedar Roof Barn, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to our Sussex barn wedding venue and surrounding grounds. This DIY wedding venue in Sussex gives you the freedom to create your perfect day. Your hire includes:
- Exclusive use of the venue for 48 hours
- Main venue area with rustic barn seating for up to 100 people
- One wedding per weekend
- Tables and chairs
- On-site kitchen
- Toilet facilities
- Garden area which can accommodate up to 120 guests
- Fire pit
- Beautiful East Sussex countryside surroundings
- No corkage
- Access to the premises until midnight

FAQs
How many guests can The Cedar Roof Barn accommodate?
The barn comfortably seats up to 100 guests indoors for dinner, and the gardens can host up to 120 guests for ceremonies or outdoor receptions. We also offer flexible layouts for more intimate weddings.
Do you have a ceremony license?
Not at this time — but many couples choose to have a celebrant-led ceremony here, with a legal ceremony elsewhere.
Can we bring our own suppliers?
Yes! You’re free to choose your own trusted suppliers. We also have a handpicked list of local vendors we love working with.
Is there accommodation on site?
Camping can be arranged for up to 60 guests as an optional add-on. We can also recommend lovely nearby hotels and B&Bs.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have ample on-site parking for guests.
Do you allow confetti / sparklers / fireworks?
Eco-friendly confetti and sparklers are welcome. Fireworks are not permitted unfortunately.
Can we have an outdoor ceremony?
Yes — we have a beautiful garden area that is perfect for outdoor celebrant-led ceremonies.
Is there electricity at the barn?
Yes, which has so far been more than sufficient but a generator may be needed for larger catering equipment.
Can we set up the day before?
Yes — our flexible hire gives you plenty of time to decorate and prepare the space the day before your wedding.
Can we leave things overnight or collect the next day?
Absolutely. You’ll have access until 2pm the following day for collection, tidying, and farewells.
Is the barn accessible for guests with mobility needs?
Yes. We are wheelchair accessible and have an accessible toilet on-site. Please let us know in advance if you need any additional arrangements.
Can we have a live band or DJ?
Definitely! Live music is welcome. We just ask that all amplified music finishes by 11.30 in line with our license.
Do you offer on-the-day coordination?
We are primarily a DIY venue, but we can recommend experienced local coordinators who know the space well and can assist with running your day.
