Our Story

Our barn sits in the heart of our small family smallholding in the East Sussex countryside – a place shaped by memories and rooted in a deep love for the land.

We first built the barn for our own wedding back in 2018, with the dream of creating a space that felt truly personal – something we hadn’t been able to find ourselves. From the very beginning, we imagined a barn that could be whatever a couple wanted it to be: a blank canvas for love stories, designed to celebrate individuality and creativity.

Building it was a true labour of love. Jez was still up on the roof the morning of our wedding, hammering in the last cedar tiles; friends gave countless hours of energy to help bring it to life; and to this day, one of our dads can often be found mowing the lawn in the lead-up to someone’s big day. Every beam, every corner, carries a little piece of our family’s heart.

As a family-run business, we treasure the personal touches that make each wedding unique. That’s why our barn has always been a DIY venue – a place where you can bring your vision to life. Whether that means wildflowers from the hedgerows, neon lights and disco balls, or something entirely your own, the space is yours to shape in any way you dream.

More than just a venue, the barn is our home – a place where laughter has echoed, seasons have passed, and memories continue to grow. We feel so privileged to share it with others, and to see couples begin their own new chapter here, surrounded by beauty, history, and love.

We also care deeply about the land around us. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we ask our guests to join us in being as eco-conscious as possible. The site is always evolving, with plenty of exciting plans for the future – including our much-loved Big Green Bus, now settled in the camping field and continuing to be a favourite backdrop for memorable photos. And there’s more to come… so watch this space!
